My participation in Science Festival in Rabat

 During the second edition of the Science Festival in Rabat the capital, I hosted an engaging workshop for the audience. The focus was on imparting insightful information about the moon, offering attendees a unique chance to observe its enchanting terrain through a telescope. To enhance the experience, participants were also allowed to capture captivating lunar moments using their phones through the telescope.

خلال الدورة الثانية لمهرجان العلوم بالعاصمة الرباط، قدمت ورشة ممتعة للجمهور الحاضر . وكان التركيزي على تقديم معلومات مفاجئة حول القمر، كما أتحت للحاضرين فرصة فريدة لمراقبة تضاريسه الساحرة من خلال التلسكوب. ولتعزيز التجربة، سمحت للمشاركين أيضًا بالتقاط لحظات قمرية رائعة باستخدام هواتفهم من خلال التلسكوب.

 Building an observatory has always been one of my dreams, and I’m proud to say it’s now a reality. The COSMAN ASTRONOMICAL OBSERVATORY is a homemade project, born from passion, recycled materials, and long nights of learning, assembling, and testing. The main structure is built from bricks and concrete, providing solid support and insulation for my instruments. For the dome, I took inspiration from modern telescope enclosures like those at La Silla Observatory in Chile, but added my own touch using wood and a rotating base. The dome is currently manual, but I plan to motorize it in the future. Inside the observatory, I use the Altair 70/420 ED doublet telescope. It is compact but powerful, perfect for wide-field astrophotography. Attached to it is a Canon 500D camera with the IR filter removed, which improves its sensitivity to deep-sky objects such as nebulae and galaxies.   Last Thursday, I had the chance to run a workshop with the amazing members of the MSA Science Club at the Faculty of Technical Sciences Settat. 🔭 I started by talking about different types of telescopes and how they work, which led to a great discussion about all sorts of fascinating astronomical phenomena. The best part was answering all the curious questions from the participants! It was such a rewarding experience to share knowledge and connect with others who are just as passionate about the universe as I'm. 🌌
