Onstep using Eq3 mount

I want to share my latest project, which combines three of my favorite hobbies: electronics, DIY making, and astronomy. I used a manual EQ3 equatorial mount with two stepper motors and two pulley kits connected with belts, allowing me to move each axis independently. For the electronics part, I used an ESP32 R32 D1 WeMos along with a CNC V3 shield and two A4988 stepper drivers. On the software side, I used the OnStepX program available on GitHub, with some modifications to the code to match my electronic and mechanical setup. Now, I can control my telescope using the OnStep app or Stellarium to select any object I want, and the mount automatically slews to it.

Astronomy has taught me that gardening is the quiet caretaking of the rarest thing in the universe.

As an astronomy lover, I deeply know how special this planet is; therefore, I believe that caring for it starts with small acts. So, as one individual among billions, I’ve chosen to do my part: planting more and contributing to a greener future. I decided to make use of the little space in front of our house. I turned the earth and removed big stones, plastic materials, trash, and all harmful substances. I know the soil isn't quite suitable for gardening, yet I love making the impossible true; let's try my best anyway. Python FITS Decompressor

 Astronomy data often comes in the form of FITS files. To save space, many surveys and observatories provide them as .fits.fz compressed files. Before using these files for analysis or astrophotography, they need to be converted back into standard .fits. I created a small Python script called fits-decompressor. It takes all the .fits.fz files from a folder, decompresses them, and saves them as normal .fits files in another folder. If the file contains image data, the script can also display it using Matplotlib. Why use this tool? Quick way to handle large numbers of compressed FITS files Works automatically on all files in the chosen folder The output can be used in most astronomy software Allows a direct preview of numeric image data How to use it 1. Wildlife photography

Another hobby I adore in my free time is going out into nature to observe animals and birds, photographing them from a long distance while staying quiet and trying to capture how they behave naturally. I would never like to see a bird in a cage, I prefer seeing them enjoy their freedom. These are some wildlife shots I’ve taken so far.    الثالث من أكتوبر 2023 في 3 أكتوبر 2023، كجزء من " اليوم التواصلي و التحسيسي "، اشرف نادي هواة الفلك على نشاط لتعريف الطلاب بعجائب الكون. قمنا بتبسيط تفسيرات الظواهر الفلكية المثيرة للاهتمام، مثل السماء الزرقاء و تغير أحجام القمر ظاهريا ، وألهمنا الطلاب لاكتساب هواية جديدة وهي هواية الفلك. كان الحدث ناجحًا، حيث اكتسبنا العديد من الأعضاء الجدد وقمنا بإضافتهم إلى مجموعة الواتساب الخاصة بنا للحصول على التحديثات والإعلانات. ال21 من أكتوبر 2023 في المساء ، من الساعة 16:00 إلى الساعة 18:30 يوم السبت 21 أكتوبر، تشرفت كلية الآداب والعلوم الإنسانية بنمسيك بالنشاط الناجح لنادي هواة الفلك.   خلال هذا النشاط اجتمع المشاركون لاستكشاف أسرار القمر، والكشف عن أهميته، وخصائصه المثيرة للاهتمام، وأسرار تضاريسه، والظواهر القمرية الساحرة .  هذا الحدث الذي لا يُنسى، والذي أقيم في رحاب الكلية، ترك جميع الحاضرين الذي يقدر عددهم بحوالي الأربعين مفتونين بالجمال السماوي و الغازه .  ال 21 من نوفمبر 2023 في صباح يوم الثلاثاء 21 نوفمبر، أقام نادي علم الفلك التابع لكلية الآداب بنمسيك ورشة م...
